Alabama’s Regions Goes Online

May 1, 2003

Birmingham, Ala.-based Regions Financial Corp. announced it has begun providing insurance information and services online at its Regions Insurance Services Web site, www.regionsinsurance.com.

Regions Insurance Services launched as a pilot project in October 2002, offering a line of small business commercial insurance products and providing information and quotes via a toll-free telephone number. Now the division’s Web site enables business owners to get quotes for and purchase umbrella products and business owners, commercial auto and workers’ compensation policies online.

“We are now proud to be able to bring quality insurance solutions and professional service to our small business customers in such a convenient format,” said Jim Taylor, president, Regions Agency Inc.

The new site contains educational articles, a glossary, newsletters and frequently asked questions to help users better understand insurance options. In addition to www.regionsinsurance.com, the toll-free telephone number for Regions Insurance Services, (866) 554-0210), continues to operate for commercial customers who prefer to conduct business in that manner.

Taylor noted that small businesses have always been an important customer segment for Regions.

The company first entered the commercial property and casualty insurance business in 2001 when it purchased Little Rock, Ark.-based Rebsamen Insurance Inc. In 2002, Regions acquired ICT Group, one of Louisiana’s largest independent insurance agencies, which operates under that name but in conjunction with Rebsamen.

Regions Agency Inc. is a Regions insurance agency affiliate involved in various lines of insurance, including credit insurance.
