MyNewMarkets.com is changing the way agents find products listed by markets on the site. We’re making the move over to tags instead of having companies choose specific categories. If you’ve not yet listed your products as an MGA, wholesale broker or carrier yet, then that would have been the most important thing to do for your marketing efforts a few years back when we launched! Get on there already!!
If you are among the thousands of companies that have their products featured on the site then the next few months are extremely important for your marketing strategy. We’re currently sending out emails to a select group of companies to be part of the beta phase of introducing tags instead of categories on the site. So far we’ve had great results with those that are participating.
Tags are another word for a keyword or search term that we’re utilizing instead of placing products into categories. Basically, what would an agent search for in any search engine to find the product they need? Tags are usually one or two word terms. Each company can add up to 10 tags for each one of their active product listings but of course can use only 1 if that is all that is needed. Switching to tags is going to greatly improve they way agents find what they need in our insurance industry specific search engine. Make sure they can find you!

***Tags Tips: Tags are usually one or two word terms. You can add up to 10 tags for each one of your product listings but you can use only 1 if that is all that is needed.
For instance – if the product is for Alarm Contractors – this one is simple and really only needs one tag: Alarm
If an agent comes to the site and does a search for alarm contractors, you’d come up. Same if they searched for alarm installers, alarm monitoring or burglar alarm. So really the one term would be sufficient.
Usually the title and description include information important for agents to find you. If the title is Workers Comp but the description includes important information regarding it (wc for truckers? contractors?) then I would include multiple tags like:
Workers Comp
Truckers
Contractors
Topics Agencies Contractors
