I wish I had something more to contribute in my post other than an understanding of the circumstances and a wish that every acct mgr/csr/support person were truly compensated adequately for their blood and sweat. I put in my time with a company, in u/w and as a loss control rep, have been on the age...

Well, yoyo, you appear to have chosen a very appropriate name. My posting is done on my own time, as well as plenty of work & research off the clock, unpaid. Yeah, Rob & I had our first meeting in this topic and we did a little verbal sparring, as fees are a very hot topic in CA right now. A...

Here is a link to a pretty decent article, and there are quite a few good topics there at the moment. http://www.agentandbroker.com/default.cfm?page=382 I particularly like the wording that all we in the insurance indus...

Rob, while our first meeting on this forum may have caused us to butt heads, I believe we can probably agree on many things. I see you are in Northern CA, I am in So Cal, (YUCK!!!). The issue on commissions, broker fees, overrides and every move made by an agent in So Cal is under the microscope rig...

Hmmmm, this is the first I have heard of Mr. Hunter. I will definitely follow the link and read up on him. But he is full of bs to begin with, the incentive offered to agencies, which is known as an "override", not a "kick back" is to place GOOD business which has superior manage...

A complicated question. No, I have never "ratted out" a customer, they usually do quite well themselves. And does it make me any money or goodwill? If you want to talk duty & responsibility, if the incumbent insurer has issued a recommendation letter regarding necessary hazards to be a...

It is definitely a commission driven industry, and we all need to keep that fact squarely in front of us. Because the hardest part I have observed is to explain to the consumer that we are in business to make a living just like them. We are entitled to a profit margin just like any other business. S...

Ok, Rob, stomp away at the sarcasm in the "copy & paste" listed below. It didn't come from me, it was posted by someone else in the thread. I am moving on to other topics, hope you can do the same. ********************************************************* Rob, I see that you are still ...

I respond only to dispel any thought that silence implies consent to agreement with you and your philosophy. My comment on "extra keystrokes" was seemingly unforgettable to you, I see where others called you a "lapdog" but that doesn't seem to offend you. If you can't handle any ...

Don't know which LOB you are looking to write, but I have seen coverage offered as follows: GL-Scottsdale, Property, Landmark American, D & O & Crime thru Travelers & Umbrella w/ Zurich. If you can access Zenith believe they will offer w/c. HOA's are not my area of major expertise, but I...

Definitely Philadelphia for a PUD, try contacting LaBarre Oksnee for their program. If you need D & O might need to get that elsewhere, but they will write umbrella over other D & O. You will need plot plan, budget & you can get the Philadelphia apps off their website.

My sources come from the dept of insurance, and the definitions of an agent vs. a broker relationship with the carrier. Also fom the markets giving the quotes, which confirmed to my boss that I was right in telling him he couldn't charge a broker fee in certain circumstances. And I don't site a sour...
