Yellow Page ad co's filing suit-anyone experienced this?
I am in a battle with DexMedia, the Phx. YP directory regarding the return on a 2 page YP ad. The ad did not provide enough leads to even pay the advertising costs. I stopped paying the ad 1-2 months into the annual contract and advised them it was not working. The rep had promised a significant adv...

Can you accept ins. co. check and not do work?
Or course, you can. If you are insured by Chubb or another fine insurer that has a policy form which does not require you to re-build or replace your contents, the carrier will issue you a check for the replacement cost of the contents or the actual current cost to re-build and you ONLY have to depo...

$( million dollar EQ
Why did the owner not select EQ with his homeowners? Or, are you looking for HO with EQ end? If he found HO, I thought it was required that EQ be offered? Even though the deduct and pricing stinks...
Interested to know. Chubb will do the high value homes but will not like the EQ requirement.

Start up opportunities - BUY ONE!
If you truly are serious about getting into the business, borrow the money from Oak Street Funding, which will lend 2-3 times commissions and buy an agency. If you can qualify with a resume suggesting you would succeed in the lender's opinion, you can borrow sufficient money to "cash out" ...

"YOU LOOK LIKE A HUCKSTER?"
Scott, the consulting fee guy, why does properly quoting on-site look so bad to you? I wish you explained how YOU would contact these homeowners other than to say" provide value by finding products that provide value" blah blah blah. What the hell do you think he is doing by providing home...

Brooke
The only problem as the SELLER to Brooke is payment over three years minimum and no security. Their stock is NOT security. I have heard of numerous career agents who sold their "retirement" to Brooke only to have the deal change as time goes on. If they find a reason to pay you less, they ...

Scott's dream
Scott, where is your benefit if insurance agents and brokers charge fees? I know there is one... I am confident, that until all other competitors begin charging the way you do, you will continue to get your clock cleaned. Scott, did you fail as an agent? Obviously, you did. I am sorry for your bad e...

I can tell you from speaking to numerous existing Brooke franchises and/or franchisees which have "walked away" from the operations, this is not an option you will want to pursue. the financing is decent but the life with them after the fact changes anytime they choose and only to their li...

General Agency "forgetting to pay commissions"
As stated in other responses, general agencies do NOT forget to pay commissions. Automation causes properly issued submissions to be paid each term without fail. If any market is not paying commissions for properly submitted business, I would give the market one opportunity to explain the error and...
