Re: Plastic Manufacturer

We had a large one with Hanover for a couple of years recently - Plastic manufacturer (not bottles). May give them a try of you have access. The one we wrote was very large though -about $175,000 for the Package alone.

Re: Building Valuation - Residential Care facility

My Opinion - STRICTLY My Opinon - Porbably at least $3,000,000. We write a few in my area. You can utilize some company web-sites to get a Building Valuation as well, depending on who you write with. I know Travelers has one and a few other companies. Marshall & Swift seems to be the company sta...

My best guess, try Acadia's Ocean Marine Dept. Ted Wirth @ 1-800-870-1170 x. 1646. Even if he can't write, he could probably tell you who could. Hope that helps some.

Sorry, I don't have any competitive markets for one that small. If it was over $50,000 I could think of a few companies that could play.

God Luck!

Don't know where you are located, but call this #: SH Smith & Company 1-800-356-0168 Ask for Seth Amendola They have some good markets & I have used them before. They seem to be cheaper than most Wholesalers on things they can write. He can tell you what companies they can use for it. Maybe ...

"The new ISO form contains AI wording? I don't remember that happening. If the ISO form doesn't have the AI wording, then an AI endorsement should have been issued. This gives the AI notice of cancellation. I am unsure where in the ISO form you are finding AI wording....could you enlighten me?...

Contractors Markets

I know that National Grange (Main Street America) is a really good company for Artisan Contractors. I know they can write in most of the New England Area. They won't do the GC's though in NY, where I am from. Safeco is a good company for commercial contractors, again, no GC's in NY. Selective is als...

I think the terminology may be a bit different than what I would use. Think " Named Insured" and "Additional Insured". A Named Insured" has all of the coverages on the policy afforded to him. An "Additional Insured" has specific coverages provided for them, i.e GL,...

I would say much softer/better. 5 years is a long time for the companies to get it right. More companies are writing better BOP type products for better prices.

Broader classification definitions, more classes of business, better products and very competitive pricing are just some of the reasons.

I am with an agency in NY. What you want to do sounds like a good idea, but to be an independent agent, not part of an agency, means that you would still have to find an agency willing to broker your accounts. Just by being an independent agent doesn't allow you access to the insurance companies wri...
