Does anyone have experience they could share (good or bad) with Applied's Equity Comp product? This would be the standalone WC product for larger accounts that does not require the payroll service.
Any input would be appreciated!

I have a client that is starting a video game publishing company that will be releasing ports of retro video games for Playstation Network, X-Box Live, etc. Games will be rated E to Teen. Nothing along the lines of violent first person shooters, but we have been declined by Great American and CFC (L...

Re: I may terminate my agreement w/ NIA!
We are in the same boat over here. I have been working with NIA for about 15 years. I have seen them go from great to horrible to great, and now to frustratingly bad. They have access to some great carriers, but it is at the point now where I don't even want to call to speak with the reps that we ar...

Coverage for bar in Nevada
I have a client that will be opening a high-end wine bar and restaurant in Nevada, on the outskirts of Las Vegas. We currently insure their bar in CA, but our two most competitive markets that we use do not write in NV, so I am not sure where to go with this one. We have several E&S markets that...

Re: Nova Contractors Program
They actually do show up on the DOI website. They were authorized to transact in CA in August of 06.
They are out of NY and part of AIX Group. I'm pretty sure that the program is on admitted paper. We have access to them for comp, but I don't know of any GA's with access to the GL program.

Re: Question about an E&O exposure vs. Products exposure
Big Dog and Lady Broker, Thank you very much for the input. PS: while the CG0001 may not have a profeessional liability exclusion, don't be so sure the carrier hasn't added an endorsement restricting that coverage.[/quote] Lady Broker, With regards to the policy in question the carrier does have a P...

The other item to keep in mind is that if the insured is not legally liable for the damage, the insured could be still responsible for paying a deductible if the coverage is Direct Primary. We have a garage risk that was test driving a customer's auto and was hit by a third party who was determined ...

Volstrike, Applied is a PEO, at least as far as the EDD is concerned according to this article from the LA Times. http://www.michigan.gov/documents/uia_labusiness_135141_7.pdf Applied runs the insured's payroll under their (Applied's) tax ID number. If you ask them, they will swear up and down that ...

Problem with Applied Underwriters
To all of my fellow agents out there who have experienced problems with Applied Underwriters, I was hoping someone might have some input on a crisis that I have encountered with one of my clients. I placed the insured with Applied (oops) back in 2003. After several months of problems with Applied, w...
