No, I don't think the program is in it's downfall, but I do think you hit it on the head when you ask if they may be going to the Wholesale marketplace as a means for new submissions. It seems that many of the "traditional" companies are finding that they do need to increase the number of ...

I had a few insured's with CNA. One is a grading contractor. At renewal, the premium was not as competitive as it was in the past. Other carriers are getting more aggresive with their pricing and I think that is why you are seeing so many insureds moving away from CNA. If policy forms are the same, ...

Try looking at Wellington (non-admitted) through Hull & Co. They have a $5,000 MP.

I guess that you have been "Farmerized" to the point that you don't read what is written. I wrote that I have 20 Companies that beat Farmers EVERY TIME! You are just not competitive in my area, and I think that that is just great!

Whenever I have Farmers as my competition, I am overjoyed! I can beat Farmers with any of the 20+ companies that I have to choose from, no question! I agree that if you think Farmers is the best Company out there, you are definitely not in So Cal. and that your Kool Aid must be quite strong!

No, not necessarily. While the James River form is somewhat more restrictive, if you properly explain the form to the insured (which it seems alot of Brokers do not do) you can let them make a decision based on that information. Allow them to be informed decision makers. Regarding Gemini and the CG2...

Try James River, North American Capacity or Gemini. Just did a risk with James River, building parking lots, 100% subbed. VERY competitive pricing.

Try James River Insurance. I access them through my local Swett and Crawford office. Just wrote an OCP for 3 SFD's with a $7,500 premium.

Furniture rental

I have an insured that owns a retail furniture store that will soon begin renting the furniture to sellers of high valued homes to make the home more attractive to buyers.
However, CNA will not add the rental exposure. Anyone know of a market for this exposure?

I would try K and K Insurance Group. They write many sports and fitness programs, but as far as I know, they do not pay a commission. Time for a nice Broker Fee!

No, 92, I do not think that you are a jerk. I, too, only pay commission. I have found that if they are also receiving a salary, they do not have the same motivation to "hit the ground running" as a commission only producer. Paying a salary only slows the production numbers way down.

We pay our Agents 50% for new and 25% for renewal if they bring the business in on their own. If it is a "call-in" to the Agency, we will pay 40% for new and 20% for renewal. This includes any Broker Fees tha may be charged.

Commission Splits

I would like to know what commission splits other Agency owners are paying their producers. I am currently at 50% for new business and 25% for renewal. Is this comparable to what others are paying? The producers have a CSR to handle service/renewal work.

I too dislike NIA. It took them 3+years to change the mailing and physical address for MY AGENCY! We have to follow-up 2,3,4+ times for them to process endorsements. I have been with them for 3+ years and will start moving my book away from them next month.
