Re: Done with CPCU 510 & 540, which one next???

Keir is great, I used it for all my CPCU classes and it was a big help. You need to focus on the objectives in the course guide; Keir is a help if you can't find the answer ( I started CPCU before they gave the page # to where the answer was in the guide) and it helps explain things as well. The pra...

Good for you for starting classes! I took the long route, got married, moved a few times to different states, changed jobs, botched an exam or two, it happens. If it happens to you, just keep going. As far as classes vs. self study, it depends on your local teachers and you're study habits. My teach...

Ok, you're working at Farmer's. From here you need to learn everything you can, and it'll be tough since you're trying to sell to make a living as well. The more you learn about coverages, the better an agent you'll be. Why? Because then you can sell what your insured's need, and also protect yourse...

Is Sam's brother and sister in the same household or not? Even if Sam has a separate corner of the house, if they're all under one roof, they all have access to the vehicle. I don't know why the carrier didn't ask for the folks too, I'm not sure I quite understand the living arrangements. In persona...

I have an extensive sales background and eventually would like to be a producer, but I would like to get my foot in the door anywhere I can. At this point, it doesnt matter whether it is personal lines or commercial lines as long as I can get a job. I would prefer commercial lines if I had the choi...

I think you're running into cultural differences. While handwriting analysis may be acceptable in Asia, in the US it's not generally held as proof of anything. The company has to have concrete facts to prove fraud. Handwriting analysis is something teens pay a few bucks for at the state fair for fun...

I'm glad you decided to go for it. It took me a while longer to get my designation, I'm always impressed by folks that can pass more than 2 classes a year. I moved around and changed jobs so had a few hiccups along the way, but that's natural. Life gets in the way, so some folks are on the loong pat...

designations

The CPCU designation is worth it's weight in gold, especially for the company side. It's well respected in the industry as the top designation. My Dad was in sales and while he respected the CLU, he respected the CPCU even more. Even before I had the full designation just having passed classes helpe...
