wlunday, I'm a producer, and your payment and benefit structure is exactly the same as I receive from my employer. Life is good, I have no complaints, although I could use a little more CSR support, but that will come as my book grows. I also share in 5% of any contingency income from our companies....

I get 50% new 30% renewal on commercial, 50% new 15% renewal on personal lines, 33% new/renewal health ins, full benefit package that includes paid health for me, up to 3% match Simple IRA, life, short & long term disability and mileage on my vehicle. And I get as much support from our 3 CISR's ...

Volstrike3, I like your idea about charging a service fee for those frequent shoppers. I'm curious how you do this and if there's decent money in it. Do you mind expanding on your set up. I'm curious how you come up with a fee, is it based on acct. size, diffuculty etc.

Get away from price as the focal point. Yes, it's important but there's more to it than just price. Emphasize the company you're representing, strong rating, local adjuster, great relationship with your agency, etc. Give the account referrals of other accounts that are extremely happy with your carr...
