Re: Online Insurance Shoppers
I think this is a question for carriers. They keep a lot of data on quotes to conversion and do a lot of work, looking or not lookup up 3rd party data sources such as MVR, Claims, etc. I know the conversion rate is really bad, less than 1% for the carriers I have discussed this with. Several carrier...

Re: Anyone with opinion on EZBuy electronic signatures
So, Its down to attack attack attack the messenger??? Wow, guess I hit a nerve and this is all an astroturf movement as I guessed. Any more turfers lurking? I am positive about tech and e-sign, just not misinformation and astroturfing. I am quite proud of my achievements, including being the archite...

Re: Anyone with opinion on EZBuy electronic signatures
Well, The DocuSign guy responded to Kelso, not me. I have no relationship with them, nor do I use the product. Kelso has yet to come clean, nor have you chancer with only a few of posts, with both of you ONLY POSTING about EZBuy. Why did I ask about it? Its irks me to see such outright shilling for ...

Re: Anyone with opinion on EZBuy electronic signatures
Kelso, you seem to be confused. OFAC is Federal and all carriers and agents are subject. The California DOI, as weird and messed up as it is, understands that it is not their role as a state entity to enforce OFAC. This seems to be a thread promoting EZBuy as opposed to opinions on the technology. W...

Re: Anyone with opinion on EZBuy electronic signatures
Electronic signature is GREAT! But it is not without its warts. Today, more and more agents are using unlicensed producers and CSR's and allowing them to quote/bind. Many agents also fall into the technology trap. I am simply trying to highlight some of those problems with e-sign. All but one of the...

Re: Anyone with opinion on EZBuy electronic signatures
From the Insurance Journal Dec 6, 2010 E&O Insights, by Curtis Pearsall When there are disputes involving the accuracy of information on an application, a key element will be the insured's signature. If the insured has signed the application, generally they will be held responsible for the conte...

Re: Diminishing Role of the Agent for P&C Insurance
I continue to scratch my head as to why anyone still has State Farm for an insurance company. After the Katrina engineering report fiasco, does anybody trust them? I really expected to see a lot of heads roll and some people actually go to jail.

Re: The Great Search Is On
I have to say I think there is a problem here. Most insurance policies pay a commission around 15%, regardless of loss. For an agent to make a smaller 4%, the customer must experience a situation that causes a cash flow problem, most likely a loss. The chances of a loss are very small so the chances...

FBI Agent 'Joyrides' Stolen Farrari and Crashes
An FBI agent joyrides a Ferrari owned by a MI insurance company and crashes it, then refuses to pay for it...you can't make this stuff up.

Re: The Great Search Is On
Reading the website, This seems like a takeoff of the payday loan ripoffs. How is this different, what are the benefits, and why would someone consider selling this coverage. The website is scant on details except that it seems to be a pretty steep charge to use it. Also, if there is no monthly paym...

Re: PA Dog Liability to meet State Requirements
So the bite was with reasonable cause and provocation. Another case where the government is forcing someone to buy insurance. It just does not sound legal or enforceable, especially since it is a guidedog. I would think there should be a procedure whereby the owner could request a hearing, and if th...

I would try the Pennsylvania Mutual Association, www.pamic.org. They have good solid companies at more reasonable prices. You should be able to work with the underwriters on exclusions as well.

Re: A facility maintenance account question
I think your worried about the wrong things... If the person damages a server, it might be worth $500-$50,000, probably more like $1500. The real damages are in loss of use. I saw a server for a national foods company go down due to a cyber attack from India. (The backup was unable to take over beca...

Re: Federal Flood Fund Funding Debate
Ok but...,
Why is the Fund not fully funded by policyholders? Why are they robbing the MAJORITY of voters for a minority?
It seems to me, that this is a better vehicle for states to come together and facilitate rather than the feds. The states should form a pool and pay in as a regular pool.
