Homeowners Insurance with open claim
$1m Indiana home with open claim of $28k being non-renewed by current carrier (Auto - Owners) effective 9/28/12. Damage to roof and drywall is being repaired now. Need to place ASAP.
Re: Homeowners Insurance with open claim
If this nonrenewal is due to the client filing an excessive amount of non weather claims, the client may by S.O.L. as far as finding coverage in the standard market. Might have to go to the insurer of last resort in your particular state.

And that's why the Insurance Gods made the non admitted market...usually good coverage at a higher rate...Lexington is a major player in that arena...so is Lloyds. Find yourself a good MGA that deals in personal lines, fill out a couple of Acords and that's about the best you'll be able to do.
That presumed $1million Coverage A amount kind of limits what you can do in the admitted market for companies that are OK with prior losses...
