A client of mine breeds snakes. Does anybody know what carrier can possibly insure them? In CA

Does he breed them for sale or what??? The risk will be determined by what they do with them? What type of snakes are they? If they have a retail operation, you might find a friendly broker who will put this under pet shop and give you a good rate (for E&S that is). Accounts like these require a bit more info than they breed snakes...

I wrote a retail reptile (pet) store in California with Safeco 3 years ago. Safeco was aware of the type of animal being 'sold'. Once again however, this won't work for your risk unless there is a retail operation associated with the breeding.

I tried Safeco for home and commercial with 2 gators and 2 crocks in the back yard, they wouldn't touch it.
