I am having a real issue trying to find insurance for a 1978 siding with a metal roof for a friend of mine who is buying a collision shop. Would anyone have any advice for me on this one? Thanks!!!

What seems to be the issue? The age isn't so old, are there prior property losses, are you close to the coast, does the building need updated? There are so many folks on this board who can help you, we just need to know what line you need, and what has transpired so far.

Good luck!

its in Central Florida and the companies are not writing the siding part. I have three brokerage companies and none want it. This has been become a pain in the butt. If it wasn't my friend, I would of gave up long time ago. I think I can get the liability and the property inside, but no one wants to cover the building itself. I was wondering if anyone knew who would cover such a risk

Well in 34 years, I have never heard of a broker not bieng able to write something...I'd find a new GA (or 3) to go thru.

Doesn't Florida have some type of cat pool or fair plan? It makes no sense they'd be willing to write the interior contents and not the exterior (bldg). If the bldg is in bad shape, approach it on a basic/broad form and ACV with a decent sized deductible.

Good luck.
