I have a California client that sells sporting goods(rifle scopes, range finders, gun cleaning kits, fishing reels, etc) online using E-Bay with a small amount of walk in sales. Sales of around $180,000. Generally the walk ins are local customers that can pick up. He recently obtained all the necessary licenses and permits to do firearm sales. Expects to do about $10,000 in firearms sales primarily to local law enforcement. Current carrier Nautilus will not renew.

Which markets will entertain this type of business?

The Firearms Business Insurance Program provides insurance products to firearms enterprises of many types including the following: wholesalers and distributors, gunsmiths, retailers, indoor/outdoor ranges, instructors, reloaders, hunting and shooting clubs, preserves, ammunition and accessory manufacturers, trade groups, manufactures and importers. The program is available in all states on an admitted basis.

Most wholesalers have this market or you can most likely acquire a direct appointment. Paper is admitted
