Will any company write a homeowners policy for a customer with a dog bite claim. Amount paid was $5000 in 2004. Client still has dog.

Thank you for your posts.

Very few preferred companies will consider, but there may be one that will write it with exclusion for dog bites. Unigard used to do it in AZ.

If no preferred companies will write it, you can definitely get an HO-3 through an MGA like burns/wilcox (it will also exclude dog bite coverage).

An independent agent should be able to find something.

Some carriers are filed for an Animal Liability exclusion endorsement; some aren't. My company is filed for it in some states but not others. I cannot imagine any carrier taking on that liability exposure since there is generally no additional premium to be gained from it. I believe your only option is to either tell them to get rid of the dog or find a carrier that will exclude animal liability.
