Michigan Insurance Producer Ownership of Clients
Hello, Just wondering if anyone had any insight on the laws of client ownership in the state of Michigan. I am currently being sued by a former employer for "soliciting" my clients. I did not have a non compete or nonsolicitation agreement. I wasn't provided an employee handbook that outlined ownership of clients and so on. In other words, I was never obligated to any form of contract to the agency itself. I am a licensed resident producer with the state of Michigan. Any advice on the situation would be greatly appreciated!
