Commission Splits

Post by simiinsuranceguy »

I would like to know what commission splits other Agency owners are paying their producers. I am currently at 50% for new business and 25% for renewal. Is this comparable to what others are paying? The producers have a CSR to handle service/renewal work.

Do not work for a broker without a contract

That's horrible you can't survive, minium 50/50 and you and your broker should be equal partners. You should have a right to own your production and buy your 50% from the broker if you choose to move on. This is called retirement, This is one way you can build and become established. Brokers like me are counting on the fact that you may move to a different industry and guess who wins. This is the same foot print farmers and allstate have counted for years.
Dam I should write book

I would give a guy 50/50 split only if he brings his own business. If he will write clients who call because of my marketing efforts, uses all the equipment and CSR's time then there i sno way he will get 50/50 split
