I'm thinking of taking an offer to work for an insurance company as a Commercial Lines Underwriter. My question to you all is, what salary should I ask for and what is paid to underwriters in Southern Cal and Texas area.
I have a friend in the field but I do not like to ask personal questions to close friends.
Thanks
What is the salary of a Commercial Lines Underwriter?

Before anyone can answer your Q,
1. What are they offering? (salary range)
2. What are you worth? (experience wise)
3. Will you be working as a production U/W?
4. What was your salary history?
5. What exactly is your duty? Assistant U/W or U/W? or VP of U/W?
If you have the experience and motivation to do your best, I'd ask for $50,000 to start w/ bonus.
