Look into one of the underwriting designations. AICPCU has an Associate in Commercial Underwriting Program

If you are interested in Professional liability look into the PLUS RPLU designation

If you have a lot of time and enjoy reading about insurance there is the CPCU deignation

All have books about underwriting and offer a designation after completion of the required exams.
