Hi. Does anyone have any information (good/bad) about CNA's construction programs (CAM)? I've seen alot of agents/(contractors)insureds moving from CNA recently. Any idea why? The program is for contractors in landscaping, concrete, electrical, land improvement, roofing, HVAC. All commercial.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

I had a few insured's with CNA. One is a grading contractor. At renewal, the premium was not as competitive as it was in the past. Other carriers are getting more aggresive with their pricing and I think that is why you are seeing so many insureds moving away from CNA. If policy forms are the same, insureds turn to pricing and loyalty is out the window.

Thank you Simi. Is your impression that the program is on it down fall?
I've heard rumblings that CNA might let wholesalers have access to the products, which isn't bad, but might suggest a desperate need for new business premium.

No, I don't think the program is in it's downfall, but I do think you hit it on the head when you ask if they may be going to the Wholesale marketplace as a means for new submissions. It seems that many of the "traditional" companies are finding that they do need to increase the number of submissions that they receive due to the aggresive marketing and pricing of the "non-traditionals".

CNA has not been very competitive lately for commercial contractors. Also, they quoted a underground engineering contractor for me but excluded subsidence. How can you write that class of business but exclude subsidence?

We had a lot of business with them but they switched UW's and that has slowed things down a lot.

Never heard of Brophy. But why do you ask? How is it relevant to this topic?
