Ok I've always wanted to have an underwriter give me a height figure for house painters....not the is it over three stories.

I have a painter that is going to be doing a job for Hilton Hotels out of Memphis TN. The job is not in TN but is this place:
http://www.roadsideamerica.com/attract/PAHALshoe.html

So he needs to rent a lift and the UW wants to know if the job will be 3 stories. How many stories is a shoe? It is 25-ft. tall but many two story homes are 25 feet.

I think it should be a feet question not how many stories. This painter guy isn't allowed to go above 3 stories.

I feel ya on this one!!! You should ask your underwriter. Im sure each carrier has their own guidelines and flexibility for exact height. That's probably why they make it so generic and just ask "less than 3 stories."

I just asked one of my underwriters in California. She says, 12 ft per story= 36 ft. max.
