West Bend is entering our state in the near future. How are they to work with? Any positive or negative feedback would be appreciated concerning them as an agency partner and as a company in general. Are they better at Personal Lines or Commerical? Are they good at both?

How is the culture of this company based on experience from those of you who have dealt with them? Are the personnel happy or bitter? Easy to work with??

Thanks

Very good to work with and when they want to write an account, they can be very competitive. Good common sense underwriting and good claims service to boot !! Service on accounts is overall good. You will like working with them, just go after what they want to write, give them good business with solid loss ratio and you will like your contract. Just hope they do not appoint too many agents in your area !!
:D :D

I am a claims adjuster local to Milwaukee and have dealt with West Bend since I have been adjusting. All around they seem to be an upstanding company. I know that they are a quality company to work for and with at least from a claims perspective...

They are an excellent company to represent. They will not every account but if you give them what they are looking for and the data they need they will give it their best shot.

As for the culture of the company, I have found few companies that are as well respected in their community. They actually have a charitible trust that they give grants to non-profit foundations every year and I understand that they give back to their community in West Bend above and beyond. They have been in the Ward's Top 50 for many years. Indiana gave them Indepenent Agent Company of the Year in 2007.
