Jam,

are you serious? What prompted you to "play around" on this insurance magazine's web site?

You have clearly demonstrated your complete lack of knowledge of this industry and it is obvious you should go mess around in another industry.

Seriously, you must have a bunch of free time...

ridiculous question if you have EVER worked in this business.

Trusted Choice® insurance agents are independent agents representing multiple insurance companies who can offer you a variety of coverage choices to help you customize a plan that provides the protection you want.

All Trusted Choice® agencies commit to a Pledge of Performance, which is below.

As a Trusted Choice® agency, we are dedicated to you and are committed to treating you as a person, not a policy. This commitment means we shall:

• Work with you to identify the insurance and financial services that are right for you, your family or your business and use our access to multiple companies to deliver those products.
• Guide you through the claims process for a prompt and fair resolution of your claim.
• Help solve problems related to your coverage or account.
• Explain the coverages and options available to you through our agency, at your request.
• Return your phone calls and emails promptly and respond to your requests in a timely manner.
• Provide 24/7 services for our customers, offering any or all of the following: emergency phone numbers, online account access, e-mail and call center services.
• Use our experience and multiple company relationships to customize your coverage as needed.
• Commit our staff to continuing education so they may be more knowledgeable in serving you.
• Treat you with respect and courtesy.
• Conduct our business in an ethical manner.

We pledge this to you, our clients, and ask that you let us know if we fail to meet our commitment, so we may take corrective action.

Trusted Choice® independent insurance agents are located all across the country and a consumer can find one in their area by visiting the Agency Locator on TrustedChoice.com.

Well, I read that on the site but it wasn't clear. So Basically its a branding thing like the BBB? Its not like an Insurance designation or no actual Insurance product?

Yes, Trusted Choice® is a branding program for independent insurance agents – independent agents can choose to join the brand program and agree to the Pledge of Performance. Consider the Trusted Choice® logo a mark of quality, like the Good Housekeeping Seal. But you are correct that it is not an insurance designation or specific product.

wow! mhutch69 is lucky-he must have been born with all insurance information ever accumulated.
Thought forums were to enhance undersatanding, not to set someone up as a target for criticism.
Don't think I will spend any more time using the forums to gain information

Hey Jackmeoff,

I clearly stated that JAM has continuously criticized spelling and other ridiculous comments and it appears has not obtained his insurance license as of yet.

If you do not know Trusted Choice, do you also need explanations of coverages or auto?

This blog should require an insurance license although even that would not stop idiotic comments/questions.

I don't know where you are mhutch, but I can tell you that in the midwest, Trusted Choice is not a pervasive household mark. I know a lot of agents, with 10+ years that would have no idea what it is. Some agents have sold for a handful of companies for many years, do not participate with agent associations or other trade groups, and are very happy with all the business they want. (And their customers are usually very happy with them)

Does it add any value? Do insureds actually look for "Trusted Choice" members?

When Trusted Choice was first rolled out, what feels like 12 years ago, it was designed to be a strong brand that would differentiate an agency member, denoting a degree of professionalism and choice. I think the idea was to get subscriptions from various carriers and a lot of agency owners who would then all be able to use the logo in advertising presentations.

It went nowhere. The public has no idea of that particular brand, and agents probably want to establish their own brand value in conjunction with insurance company branding.

I know we all view the world from our own local experiences, but from what I've seen, with the exception of direct writers, insureds often refer to their insurance company as the agency, because that's where the interaction is centered from point of sale to service to claims and ultimately to cancellation. I would say that Trusted Choice has been a giant failure in the context of establishing any kind of brand awareness with the public.

Hi Jam, I hope this give you some insight to Trusted Choice:

Trusted Choice is not an advertising campaign. It’s more. Trusted Choice is a marketing program created to help consumers clearly understand the value of independent insurance agents.

I have a few articles I can email to you if you want to provide your email address.
thanks.

Trusted Choice? Seriously? Never heard of it and I've been in this buisness for over 30 years. I don't remember anything about this organization. Since it sounds like a brand of dog food or coffee, I beleive that my membership in PIA and the "Big I" would be enough marketing for our agencies other than "Trusted Choice"....I agree with d, I guess it never quite made it off the ground! No offense intended, Trusted Choice...but really, you should revamp your title. 8)

The Trusted Choice branding will be "free" to all agents the belong to the Independent Agents & Brokers of America. This begins in Sept 2011.
