Help Needed To Migrate From Programming

Hello all ,
I'm a newbie to the insurance biz , a software engineer trying to learn insurance, more accoustomed to names like hartford ,mercury farmers,csaa etc in their projects than their real fields of operation .I feel lot more intrested in studying biz than coding, could anyone guide me in starting . i plan to take up INS21 by this year end .
where can i get more details on the entire insurance segment ,this fourm has more pratical day to day operations .May any CPCU share their study plan ...............
