I met with an SIAA rep yesterday. And between the start up cost and the little commission, I don't know if I can make it in the p&c side. Is it just the amount of volume? To me it would seem to take atleast 3-4 years before you see any real money. Not to mention that people charge their car insurance often.. Please help, I'm down right now and need a pick up.

No need to be down, this is fixable. I don't really believe in the cluster concept. I feel this was set up for lazy people who aren't willing to work to get companies. Your return for taking the easy way is less money in your pocket as you have to pay for being lazy. I think if you put some effort into marketing your agency to a few select companies, that one or two of them will take a leap of faith in you and your agency. Reward that company who took a chance on you with good business and a good share of your total application count even when you secure other markets. Good luck!
