Howdy all,

Have a interview with NY Life and looking for input on the company.

I'm new to business and have heard they have a very good training program.

Do they have paid training? Or is it draw?

What kind of commision structure?

Any and all other input would be great.

Thank you.

Went on first interview today and sounds like the following holds true for pay-

No training salary but an traing bonus so to say on sales. If you sell a policy you would recieve 40-50% commision then get an additional 90% of that commision as a training bonus. Example, you get an $1000 commision you would also recieve a $900 training bonus added on.

Should be called shortly to schedule second interview will do follow up then.

Sounds like you pay for your own mailings, marketing and such.

well, did you get that second call? I am interested in going with NY Life if they offer better training and support for marketing. I however would not be interested in working only for NY Life.

Did go for next interview however did not pursure from there.

The training sounds top notch however have heard numerous negative statements regarding the office I was looking at.

After the second interview felt the negative comments were justified.
Meaning the Partner for my office was suspect.

The next thing was no salary or draw. Just a "ledger" that you could borrow against for marketing purposes only. The comp plan however did seem very fair and if you hit your numbers you'll do fine.

The more I look at the captive markets the less I like. Hate to sell products to folks that may not fit thier needs cause thats all I can sell. Looking at some brokers now to go Indy and will go that route.

Interviewing with RJ now and will follow that through.

If any want more info on NYLife just respond.
