Standard of care owed by insurance producers

Post by IRCOS, LLC »

Claims disputes often spawn allegations of negligence, errors or
omissions, breach of contract by policyholders against producers, which
are rooted in the perception that their producer did not meet the
minimum standard of care owed to them. Are there any producer
organizations that established what is deemed to be acceptable standard
of care owed by their members to policyholders?

CPCU Society

I know the CPCU designation is not particularly popular among the producer set, but one of the biggest strengths of CPCU is the ethics component of its program. I know of no other insurance training or organization that stresses professional ethics as much as CPCU does. To find out more, visit http://www.cpcusociety.org or http://www.aicpcu.org.

I agree with you on the benefit of the CPCU program, I just took an exam yesterday towards the designation. However, I think what IRCOS, LLC is looking for is more of an idea of what a minimum standard of care is defined as.
