The e-Insure Journal has posted a new guest column, in which writer and financial planner Robert G. Williscroft exposes the real differences between term and whole life insurance, and explains how the insurance industry invented whole life insurance as a marketing ploy that exploits public ignorance about basic insurance principles to generate enormous profits for insurers. I might agree with that if not for the reason that to own something is better than renting. John Q. Public is not a good saver! WL albeit an old product is still better than losing your insurance when you can no longer afford it and the old adage buy term and invest the difference never seemed to work out. Certainly the newer Universal Life policies if sold correctly is the best product to offer. The main thing is to have any life insurance in place when your family etc needs it.
