A relative died and while cleaning the home I came upon several OLD insurance policies. Some where so old the pages were stuck together and yellowed from age. I've called the phone numbers on the policies but all of them are no longer around. How can I find out if these insurance companies are still around?
Thank You.
P.S. some of the policies are from: Citizens Security, Kentucky Central Insurance and Appalachian Life.

Start with the AM Best site - www.ambest.com. I found Citizens Security right away. Then call the department and find out the procedure for filing a claim. If you cannot find the company, then call the Department of Insurance for the state listed on the policy - the company may have been bought by another company, merged, etc.
