Moving To San Antonio Texas
I want to open an Independent Insurance agency, can someone that have done business in San Antonio tell me if in this economic times it will be a good idea to open an agency there. Also what are the best areas to live and raise a family and the best areas to open a business.

Re: Moving To San Antonio Texas
You might want to seriously consider contacting a regional brokerage there first, rather than doing a start-up. Insurance laws are slightly different here in Texas (I live in Houston) than they are in Kalifornia (I relocated in 2005 for the benefit of my then employer -Aon, who laid us off a year and a half later).
As to where to live in San Antonio, a friend relocated from SoCal to there, and bought a home in Boerne. You might want to look at any newer planned communities.
Fortunately, the Texas economy hasn't suffered as much as California. When it comes to recessions, Texas tends to be "last in and first out".
