I have a client who has 4 homes, 4 autos. the primary home has a commercial exposure. The commerical exposure is fully insured. We are looking to just cover the homes and vehicles. Any suggestions. This is a NY Account

Possibly ULSI www.usli.com or www.Personalumbrella.com
You need to be appointed with each, or go though a wholesalers for USLI
I think RLI is out, although RLI does have a at home business policy that might help www.iiaba.org
Please recongnize this will likely be an umbrella with a hole do to the commercial exposure, even if written. Read all the forms and compare all policies. You may also need to be concerned about subrogation from commercial carrier to personal carrier or visa versa in some circumstance. As the agent you are clearly in thr cross hairs in this situation.
Another option would be to write the home with an at home business endorsement if available and eligible. Then you could do all on a personal form and be in good shape.

Be cautious the home business end. is not a broad as the CGL policy and the end. available with the CGL policy. Make sure the client's hazards are covered.

If possible, insure the business risk and the HO risk together with the same company. It would make it substantially easier to have a claim be covered since the insurance company is on the hook either way. It would also make it a lot easier to talk to an underwriter and ensure the coverages are in place the way they need to be.
NY makes that harder, but not impossible.
