The Business



In Health & Benefits (H&B), our purpose is that through our colleagues we help our clients make a difference in the lives of their employees. We help large and mid-size clients control soaring health and welfare plan costs, improve health outcomes and promote employee engagement through broad-based, state-of-the-art interventions. We provide solutions encompassing creative plan design, vendor evaluation and management, pricing and funding strategies, data analytics, valuation support, and legal compliance and governance strategies. We also provide specialty consulting services including clinical/health management program design, pharmacy solutions, disability/absence management strategies and claims audit services. Product-based solutions such as our pharmacy purchasing coalition round out our broad-based suite of offerings.

: WTW's Health & Benefits (H&B) Health Immersion Program (HIP) is a centrally run, 18-month rotational program for recent college graduates. The program offers a centralized team to support talent throughout the program by providing the opportunity to develop a broad knowledge base across the health care, group benefits and wellbeing space and build a diverse network through exposure to different client cohorts and projects.

The program contains foundational and elective rotations to set you up with a holistic view of H&B. You will gain hands-on experience, insight, and opportunities before assignment into an optimal role at the end of the program. Elective rotations are made through a mutual selection process reflecting colleague preferences and business needs. The program provides the opportunity for graduates to work on clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to mid- and small-sized organizations, alongside multiple client service teams, subject matter experts in our Communities of Expertise (CoEs) and senior leaders. At the conclusion of the program, successful graduates will be placed in an Analyst or Associate position within H&B.

You will work with colleagues of all levels and gain exposure to clients ranging in the Fortune 500 sector to mid- and smaller-sized companies.


  • Support the development and implementation of new client strategies and solutions

  • Analyze and compare vendor products, services, and contracts

  • Perform financial analyses, including developing pricing, creating employee contribution strategies, modeling plan design alternatives, etc.

  • Gain specialized knowledge in areas such as pharmacy, life and disability insurance, health equity and wellbeing, vendor placement, actuarial/analytics, and more

  • Evaluate responses to surveys and vendor proposals

  • Collaboratively work with your HIP class supporting project opportunities and various trainings



About you.



  • Successful completion of a 2023 summer internship with WTW
  • Progress towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
  • Preferred course work may include human capital/human resource management, health economics, risk management & insurance, business management, marketing and finance, advanced mathematics
  • Prior internship or other work experience demonstrating increasing levels of complex work, autonomy, and client service skills
  • For Actuarial students: Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams highly preferred
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently, but also cooperatively in a close team environment
  • Passion for solving problems and sharing solutions to exceed client standards
  • Resourceful and creative; inquisitive
  • Sense of accountability; owning one’s work and taking pride in it
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, client-oriented environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint

Compensation and Benefits:

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that base salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).

Compensation:

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $70,000 - $75,000 USD. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
