AM Specialty Insurance Company (ASIC) is a domestic Excess and Surplus Insurance Company and an Accredited Reinsurer. Our business model facilitates innovative fronting solutions, risk-sharing, and access to reinsurance capacity for our partners. We collaborate with program administrators, brokers, and underwriters to enhance the efficiency of program market processes and optimize value chain efficiencies.

Accountant Duties and Responsibilities


  • Oversee AM Re settlements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Conduct detailed account reconciliations and perform thorough research to resolve discrepancies.

  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

  • Manage the preparation and monitoring of premium receivables and reinsurance settlements.

  • Handle accounts payable processing and ensure compliance with financial policies.

  • Prepare and record various monthly journal entries including depreciation, prepaids, and credit card transactions.

  • Manage and record investment entries, including coordinating data uploads.

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements.

  • Provide support for other accounting functions as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a team-oriented approach.



Requirements and Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

  • Strong mathematical aptitude and exceptional proficiency in MS Excel, including the ability to use advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros to streamline tasks and improve reporting accuracy.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail with an organized approach to managing multiple priorities.

  • Preferably at least 2 years of experience in accounting or a similar field, with a track record of measurable contributions to team success.
