Commercial Lines Insurance Producer

Position Summary

As a Commercial Transportation Insurance Agent, you will be responsible for selling insurance policies specifically tailored to commercial vehicles and fleets, expanding our commercial book of business. You will use your strong communication skills to connect with our clients, on the phone or in person, leveraging our expertise in insurance products and industry knowledge to assess client needs, offer tailored commercial insurance packages, and ensure exceptional service delivery. The Commercial Transportation Insurance Agent works under the supervision of the Agency Operations Manager.

Impactful Contributions and Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a strong relationship with customers within the trucking sector


• Able to explain insurance products & services while conducting thorough insurance needs assessments to understand customers' requirements and risk profiles; recommending appropriate coverage based on analysis of customer's circumstances


• Customize insurance solutions for commercial fleets, including coverage for vehicles, cargo, and liabilities


• Prospect new clients through leads and referrals, consistently meeting monthly sales targets and quota


• Quote insurance through various carriers, negotiating coverage pricing and conditions to meet customer needs


• Be able to prepare and process binders of insurance policies, endorsements, certificates of insurance, audits, and cancellations; ensuring follow-up processes.
  Enter all required data into the management system to maintain current file data on assigned accounts.


• Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting the transportation insurance sector


• Effectively communicate the company's competitive advantage and key differentiators to maintain your existing book of business, and secure new business by networking, cold calling, and prospecting potential customers


• Visit with, follow up, call, and coach existing and prospective customers on commercial transportation insurance policies as part of the company's commitment to high-level personal attention and customer service.

Essential Qualifications

• P&C (Property and Casualty) License required


• Minimum of 1-year commercial transportation insurance sales or customer service experience


• Experienced within an insurance agency is preferred with knowledge of all lines of commercial transportation insurance coverage


• Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desired
