Charlotte, NC, Louisville, KY, Houston, TX As a US Delivery Team Financial/Actuarial Analyst you will support a wide variety of client teams for standard financial analysis of employer health and welfare benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, etc. You will interface with client teams, contribute to analyses and client deliverables, and ensure quality standards are met. You will have the opportunity to significantly grow your health and benefits business acumen as well as your financial, project management and communication skills by working on cutting edge projects alongside leaders in the industry.

The Role



  • With clear guidance and direction, play an active support role in multiple client teams developing financial analyses, outputs, and client deliverables across our national Financial, Actuarial, and
  • Analytics (FAA) community
  • Develop working proficiency of core financial, actuarial and analytics theories, models and tools
  • Assist with financial modeling of benefit plan designs, cost avoidance/funding strategies, and budget projections and rate/contribution development with clear guidance and direction
  • Take responsibility for execution of specific tasks that contribute to financial/actuarial deliverables for clients, with guidance and adherence to stated deadlines
  • Support accurate and reliable claim reporting and financial modeling to guide client decisions
  • Work to support Client Service teams, collaborating with colleagues in the to produce consistent, high-quality client deliverables
  • Develop basic knowledge of all broad-based benefit programs (e.g., health care, pharmacy ,dental, vision, etc.)
  • Build strong relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
  • Opportunity to select area of focus based on exposure to a multitude of projects; for example, be more client-facing with the client-dedicated teams, or focus more on managing internal initiatives


The Requirements



  • Prefer internship and/or 1+ years’ work experience in professional services, ideally gained in a benefit consulting/brokerage firm or health underwriting / actuarial function of an insurance company
  • Basic knowledge of some health and welfare products & services
  • Strong data management, math and/or analytics capabilities
  • Ability to identify inconsistencies in data
  • Ability to work with colleagues from different backgrounds and cultures
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong client service orientation (internal and external)
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
  • State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining
  • Relevant financial experience and/or university degree
  • Progress towards completion of health actuarial designation or CEBS designation(optional)
