Ryan Specialty Appoints New Senior Leadership within Underwriting Managers Specialty

Chicago-based Ryan Specialty has made appointments to three new senior leadership roles within the Underwriting Managers specialty.

  • Brian Lillis, Chief Operating Officer, has been with Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers for nine years, and has served in variety of operational, technology, M&A and finance leadership roles, serving most recently as Senior Vice President.
  • Eric Quinn, Senior Vice President, has been with Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers for two years as Vice President of Program Development. Quinn joined Ryan Specialty through the All Risks acquisition, where he served in a variety of program development and MGU leadership roles for 12 years.
  • Chris Taggart, Senior Vice President – Organizational Development, has been with Ryan Specialty for eight years serving as Vice President – Human Resources, responsible for Employee Relations, College Recruiting and Training across the entire Ryan Specialty platform.

Argo Group appoints Snyder president, U.S. Insurance

Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd., an underwriter of specialty insurance, appointed Jessica Snyder as president, U.S. insurance. Snyder will report to Tom Bradley, Argo’s executive chairman and chief executive officer.

With almost 30 years of industry experience, Snyder joins Argo from GuideOne Insurance where she most recently served as its president and chief executive officer from 2017 through 2022. Snyder led GuideOne’s restructuring to a mutual holding company, expanded its niche commercial and excess and surplus insurance product lines, reconfigured its reinsurance program, and strengthened the leadership team and board with experienced executives.

Prior to GuideOne, Snyder served as senior vice president of commercial and specialty lines at State Auto Insurance. She also served as senior vice president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer at Rockhill Insurance Group, and as chief financial officer at Citizens Property Insurance.

Doug Kovach Joins Concert Group

Concert Group Holdings said Doug Kovach has joined Concert Insurance as senior vice president, underwriting and program management. He will report to Concert’s Chief Underwriting Officer, Joe Alberti.

Kovach has over 30 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industries. He comes to Concert after 10 years at American Family Insurance Company where he helped build a profitable $250 million reinsurance business through his strong network of brokers, MGAs and carrier partners.

Prior to American Family, Kovach served in senior underwriting roles placing commercial accounts of all sizes for national brokers, including Brown & Brown, Willis and Aon.
