Woodlands Financial, Austin Indemnity

The Woodlands Financial Group (TWFG) will acquire the renewal rights of the personal lines homeowners business of Austin Indemnity Lloyds Insurance Company (AILIC), effective Aug. 15, 2008.

In a joint announcement, the companies said TWFG General Agency, a subsidiary of TWFG, will provide service for impacted homeowner’s policies previously offered through AILIC. Austin Indemnity, based in Austin, has approximately 5,700 homeowners policies in Texas. Both agents and existing policyholders will begin to receive notification of the transition in July.

In order to place business following the transition, all AILIC agents are encouraged to contact TWFG for an appointment.

TWFG will offer new and renewal policies utilizing consistent systems and software, in addition to using the same forms, rates and guidelines previously used by AILIC.

Richard “Gordy” Bunch, president and CEO of TWFG founded The Woodlands Financial Group in 2000 as an independent insurance agency and financial services firm in The Woodlands, Texas, north of Houston. TWFG offers access to many products and programs, including property and casualty business.

Frost Insurance, Seeburger Insurance Associates

Frost Insurance, a subsidiary of Frost, has acquired Seeberger Insurance Associates, an independent insurance agency based in Plano, Texas, that specializes in group employee benefits plans.

Frost Insurance reported the acquisition was effective July 1, 2008.

Seeberger Insurance Associates, owned and operated by Mark Seeberger, has offered insurance products to customers in the Dallas area since 1975.

The Seeberger team moved into Frost Insurance’s Dallas location at 5710 LBJ Freeway on July 14.

Seeberger Insurance Associates is the ninth acquisition made by Frost Insurance.

LWCC

Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation (LWCC) has launched a new stand-alone Web site, www.saferplacetowork.com, which provides centralized safety information for both employers and employees. The company said the “microsite” makes available 39 separate safety documents in a free, downloadable PDF format.

It covers specific topics relating to driving safety, lifting safety, and prevention of slips and falls, as well as advice on how to create a safety program for the workplace.

The new LWCC microsite was designed to encourage employers and employees to work together in creating a safe workplace.

LWCC is Louisiana’s largest writer of workers’ compensation insurance.
