Combined Agents, Elliott Insurance, HC&H Insurance

Austin, Texas-based Combined Agents of America LLC (CAA) has added two new agency members, one located in Kansas and one in North Texas.

With the addition of the two new members of the group — Elliott Insurance Group (EIG) in Louisburg, Kan., and HC&H Insurance Group LLC in Denton, Texas — CAA now has 47 independent insurance agency members.

HC&H Insurance Group LLC is an independent insurance agency that serves Denton, Cooke, Collin, Grayson and Wise counties in North Central Texas. Based in Denton, HC&H Insurance provides client service and professional insurance programs for all segments of the insurance marketplace.

Founded in 1974, EIG is a full service, independent insurance agency based in Louisburg, Kan. EIG provides tailored insurance solutions to clients in and around Kansas City, Paola, Overland Park, Shawnee, and Lenexa, Kan., and Kansas City and Independence, Mo.

R-T Specialty

R-T Specialty LLC (RT), the wholesale brokerage arm of Ryan Specialty Group LLC (RSG) has opened a new office in Dallas, Texas. Rajan Shah will direct the office as president. Shah brings more than 17 years of experience in the insurance industry, including spending the last 10 years in the wholesale sector.

Ryan Specialty Group was formed earlier this year by Pat Ryan, founder and retired chairman and CEO of insurance broker, Aon.

Cunningham Lindsay, GAB Robins

Cunningham Lindsey has acquired the U.S. loss adjusting business of GAB Robins North America Inc.

Cunningham’s U.S. operation will expand by more than 380 people and 100 office locations as a result of the acquisition, bringing its total presence in the United States to more than 1,100 full-time employees in 200 office locations.

The Cunningham Lindsey and GAB Robins operations are complementary with minimal service and client redundancy, the acquisition announcement said. The combined business will operate under the Cunningham Lindsey name.

Cunningham Lindsey is majority-owned by Stone Point Capital LLC, a private equity firm specializing in the global insurance and financial services sectors. Stone Point acquired a majority interest in Cunningham Lindsey in 2007.

Lockton Dunning Benefits, Grizzaffi Darby

Dallas-based Lockton Dunning Benefits has acquired Grizzaffi Darby LLC, an employee benefit consulting practice also headquartered in North Texas. Grizzaffi Darby will take the Lockton Dunning Benefits name and will continue serving clients from its current office at 319 West Oak Street in Denton, Texas.

The transaction was completed Jan. 4, 2011. The combined operation employs 150 associates.

Lockton Dunning Benefits specializes in the design, implementation, communication and year-round service of medical, dental, life, disability, and other employer-sponsored benefit programs.

Lockton in-house subject matter experts include actuaries, medical directors, compliance attorneys, health risk management directors, employee communication managers and M&A due diligence specialists.
