Hub International, Roy Agency

Chicago-based Hub International Limited (Hub) has acquired the Roy Agency Inc. (Roy), an insurance brokerage firm headquartered in Plano, Texas.

The Roy team will become part of Hub International Rigg (Hub Texas). Agency principals and founders, Denise M. Roy, president, and Christopher J. (CJ) Roy, vice president, will join Hub Texas, reporting to Gregory Louvier Sr., president and chief operations officer, Hub Texas.

Founded in 1988, Roy provides commercial property and casualty insurance and risk management solutions. The firm’s diversified book of business spans various industries including construction contractors, manufacturers, and service industry providers in Texas. The firm also is active in many industry professional associations in Texas.

Hub International, Roeder & Moon

Hub International Limited (Hub) also acquired Roeder & Moon Inc. (R&M), an insurance brokerage firm in Dallas, Texas.

R&M will become part of Hub International Rigg (Hub Texas). Jeffrey Moon Evans, president of R&M, will join Hub Texas and report to Gregory Louvier, Sr., president and chief operations officer, Hub Texas. The R&M team will move into Hub’s existing offices in Dallas.

Founded in 1931 and family owned and operated since this founding, R&M serves businesses and individuals in the greater Dallas area. Over the past 20 years, R&M has developed a niche in arranging insurance and risk management programs for the entertainment industry, including coverage for TV shows, feature films, commercials, concerts, special events, film festivals, entertainers, recording studios, equipment rental companies, post-production facilities, and non-profit arts organizations. R&M represents insurance carriers with specialized departments for these risks and develops coverage forms to address unique exposures.

Hallmark Financial, TBIC

Hallmark Financial Services Inc., based in Fort Worth, completed its previously disclosed acquisition of TBIC Holding Corp., including its wholly owned subsidiaries Texas Builders Insurance Co. and TBIC Risk Management Inc. (collectively, TBIC).

TBIC is an Austin, Texas-based insurer writing small and middle market workers’ compensation business in Texas. Hallmark funded the $1.6 million required to close the acquisition from available working capital.

Hallmark Financial is an insurance holding company which, through its subsidiaries, engages in the sale of property/casualty insurance products to businesses and individuals.
