Frost Insurance, Stone Partners

Texas-based Frost Insurance acquired Stone Partners Inc., a human resource consulting firm that specializes in compensation, benefits and outsourcing services, effective Jan. 1. Stone Partners will operate as a division of Frost Insurance.

Originally established as J.E. Stone & Associates in 1987, Stone Partners was founded in 2000 to provide consulting services to employers and plan participants throughout the United States and the world.

It offers actuarial services, benefit administration, communications, compensation, managed payroll administration, health and welfare, human resources management and retirement services.

The company has 25 employees and offices in Houston, Dallas and Austin.

Great American, Employers Comp Associates, Freeman Administrative Solutions

Great American Insurance Group, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, is acquiring Dallas, Texas-based Employers Comp Associates Inc. (ECA) and Freeman Administrative Solutions Inc. (FAS).

ECA and FAS were founded by Darlene and Larry Freeman. Darlene Freeman will join Great American Insurance Group as divisional president of ECA and FAS.

Founded in 1993, ECA provides employers’ primary indemnity coverage for employers that opt out of the Texas workers’ compensation system and occupational accident coverage for independent owner/operator truckers.

FAS, established in 2002, is a claims administrator specializing in the handling of employers’ primary indemnity and occupational accident claims.

TWFG, Heartland Marketing Group

The Woodlands Financial Group (TWFG), headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas, has acquired Texans CUSO Insurance Group LLC dba Heartland Marketing Group.

Heartland Marketing and Heartland Specialty will be merged into TWFG General Agency while Heartland Insurance Group will be integrated into TWFG Insurance Services.

CoVerica

Dallas-based insurance agency SIG Insurance Professionals has rebranded as CoVerica. Insurance options include a full range of personal, commercial, and employee benefits coverage.

CoVerica currently serves insurance needs for clients throughout the state. Specialty niches include mobile device insurance for expensive mobile electronics, crane and rigging insurance, and restaurant insurance.

A member of the Strategic Insurance Agency Alliance (SIAA), the agency will rebrand this side of its business as CoVerica Agency Alliance.
