A Look Back

By | December 4, 2023

For Insurance Journal’s last print issue of 2023, we decided to travel back in time to review the most significant events in insurance history over the past 100 years. While we selected 100 moments that altered how the insurance industry operates, there were many more events and moments that we simply couldn’t fit in. Check out a Century of Insurance compiled by Insurance Journal editors beginning on page 16.

2023 was a special year for Insurance Journal as well as we celebrated our 100th anniversary of providing property/casualty news and information for our valued readers. It’s a gift to be part of such a dynamic industry sector and we thank you for allowing us to continue in this role.

This holiday season we invite you to visit Insurance Journal’s first-ever holiday album.

The album, titled “Have A Claims Free New Year,” is a collection of holiday tunes cleverly mixed to traditional holiday music — adding in insurance specific lyrics, of course! We believe there is nothing else out there quite like this insurance-themed album and we hope you agree.

This year, we added a new song to the album’s existing song list: “12 Claims of Christmas.” Other tunes on the album include:

  • O Property O Casualty (to the tune of O’ Christmas Tree)
  • Deck the Halls (With Parametric)
  • Umbrella Night (to the tune of Silent Night)
  • We Wish You a Book of Business
  • CGL (to the tune of Jingle Bells)
  • Auld Professional Lines (Auld Lang Syne)
  • A Drone Hit a Stranger (to the tune of Away In A Manger)
  • Bundle Your Housetop (to the tune of Up On the Housetop)
  • Please Cyber St. Nicholas (to the tune of Jolly Old)
  • ‘Twas Work Comp Krampus Eve

All singles are available wherever music is sold and/or downloaded, including Spotify, iTunes, Pandora, and Amazon Music, or listen to the full album for free on YouTube.

Insurance is for every season, but this album is Insurance Journal’s gift to you, our readers, so bring it to your holiday party this year.

Each day of the past 100 years, Insurance Journal has worked diligently to provide the most relevant content for the property/casualty insurance market. The next 100 years will be no different. We thank you for reading and wish all our readers a healthy and prosperous new year.
