Jeter Joins Insurance Journal as Regional VP

April 21, 2003

Insurance Journal is pleased to announce the addition of Eric Jeter as regional vice president of Insurance Journal-Texas/South Central. A native Texan, Jeter brings a wealth of experience to his new role.

He has held various executive marketing positions with PennWell Publishing Company, including international sales manager for Oil and Gas Journal and national sales manager for technology-oriented publications such as Computer Design and Portable Design. In his long association with PennWell, Jeter was a strong and consistent contributor to that company’s growth and diversification.

“I am very pleased to be part of the professional staff at Insurance Journal,” Jeter commented. “My former publishing experiences include oil and gas, electronics and the semiconductor industry sectors, both domestically and internationally, where the recognition of areas of risk management as vital to all well-managed businesses and industry affairs was a significant concern. With my joining Insurance Journal, I will have the opportunity for first-hand participation in risk management as it relates to the intrinsic values of property and casualty products and markets.”

“For some time we have been looking for the right person to help managing editor Stephanie Jones build the quality of our Texas/South Central magazine,” said Mitch Dunford, executive vice president of Wells Publishing, Insurance Journal’s parent company. “Not only is Eric Jeter a native Texan, but he brings with him a tremendous amount of experience in the magazine business. We know that as we tap into his experience, the quality and the reputation of the publication will continue to grow. We are excited to have him on our team.”

According to Jeter, his goals include maximizing circulation and readership, as well as further developing Insurance Journal-Texas/South Central into “the hardest-working, most effective communications tool available for our growing list of readers, advertisers and editorial contributors.”

Jeter’s personal interests include produce-farming, equestrian pursuits that include riding registered Appaloosas raised from his previous bloodline-breeding programs, and collecting art. He is also actively involved in the Police Activities League (PAL) of Texas, serving as president of the Board of Directors, which oversees the organization’s youth ranch in central Texas, as well as 28 active PAL chapters across the state.
