Benefiting the Community a Major Goal for the ACE Group Classic

August 4, 2003

Every time a pro tees up the ball on the PGA Champions Tour, he expects to play well and enjoy a positive outcome.

Well, each year the ACE Group of Companies, through its sponsorship of the ACE Group Classic, endeavors to do the same thing – to have a positive impact in and around the local Naples, Fla. community through its donations to local charities. Through the ACE Group Classic, the ACE Group of Companies and its partners donates proceeds from the tournament to several very deserving local organizations, namely, the Education Foundation of Collier County and the Greater Naples YMCA and the Bonita Springs YMCA.

Since 1999, the ACE Group of Companies has lent its name as the title sponsor of the ACE Group Classic. As a leading insurance and reinsurance company, ACE recognizes the close relationship between golf and business and it utilizes this event as a venue to build awareness of its brand, messaging, and products and services. ACE is also known for its efforts to bring goodwill to the communities in which it does business. Contributing to the Education Foundation of Collier County and the YMCAs for Greater Naples and Bonita Springs just continues this tradition.

“The Education Foundation is a terrific organization that brings a lot to the Collier County community,” said Bob Burris, tournament director of The ACE Group Classic. “Combined with our long-established relationship with the YMCA of Collier County and our recent addition of the Bonita Springs YMCA, The ACE Group Classic has multiple vehicles through which to give back to the Southwest Florida families who have supported this tournament for so many years.”

“We are very excited about participating in The ACE Group Classic,” said Susan McManus, president of The Education Foundation. “As a beneficiary, we plan to use the proceeds to help us accomplish our mission and enhance the quality of local education.”

The donations from the ACE Group Classic also benefits the YMCA, a not-for-profit organization open to all people that builds strong kids, strong families and strong communities through programs like teen leadership, health and wellness, character development and childcare.

“The YMCA is so blessed to be a long-time recipient of such a wonderful event. Each year we utilize the proceeds to provide financial assistance to children, teens and families in our programs who would otherwise not be able to participate,” said Mary Mossing, YMCA president and CEO.

The ACE Group of Companies provides insurance and reinsurance for a diverse group of clients. The company conducts its business on a global basis with direct operating subsidiaries in nearly 50 countries. Additional information can be found at www.acelimited.com.
