MarketScout Honoring U.S. Heroes with Sept. 11 Celebration

September 6, 2004

Dallas-based MarketScout is holding a Heroes! celebration on Sept. 11 and 12, 2004, to honor American soldiers who have served on active duty in Iraq or Afghanistan. The non-political event is intended simply to thank those who have risked their lives to protect our freedom.

MarketScout’s vision is for thousands of soldiers to be honored. The company has encouraged insurance leaders across the country to hold similar celebrations for soldiers who hail from their particular states. MarketScout recently reported it has received tremendous support from leaders in the insurance and business community for the Heroes! celebration.

The soldiers and their spouses will be honored with a cocktail reception, dinner and dance at Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas on Sept. 11. The next day, the soldiers will be treated to lunch at Johnny Carino’s and a Texas Rangers ballgame, where they will be recognized.

MarketScout is underwriting the entire celebration, however, according to Richard Kerr, founder of MarketScout, “Leaders in the insurance industry have wholeheartedly supported this event with financial contributions. This has enabled us to accommodate many additional soldiers and their spouses.”

To date, AIG has taken an active role as a Platinum sponsor. Other participating insurers include Old American, ACE, Zurich, and XL. Among other insurance organizations pledging support are Lockton, Marsh, McQueary Henry, Palmer and Cay, McGriff, Agnew Higgins and others. Businesses supporting Heroes! outside of the insurance industry include the Westin Park Central, the Texas Rangers, Johnny Carino’s and many others.

Attending soldiers and their spouses will receive recognition from several well-known personalities, including NFL Hall-of-Fame member and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Roger Staubach, and Major General J.D. Thurman, commanding general of the 4th infantry, the division that captured Saddam Hussein.

In addition to financial donations and sponsorship for soldiers, MarketScout will give away door prizes to the soldiers throughout the evening. The door prizes will be distributed in a raffle fashion, and all soldiers will get a ticket at the door.

Kerr hopes Heroes! is the beginning of annual celebrations honoring America’s soldiers in major cities across the United States. For more information about the Heroes! celebration, visit www.market
