Amount the California Senate passed on Aug. 21 for the state’s budget, ending an impasse that threatened the livelihood for several state-supported programs and health care facilities that rely on budget funding. While no measures for insurance funding were affected by the budget delay, according to Bill Packer, director of public relations for the Association of California Insurance Companies, most expect the Legislature will now be able to address other important topics.
