AIG Rebrands Domestic Insurance Operations as P/C Group; Shuffles Executives

American International Group, Inc. has renamed its Domestic General Insurance operations the AIG Property Casualty Group, a move the company said reflects AIG’s corporate brand and an intention to provide a clearer view of its U.S. and Canadian operations.

The new AIG Property Casualty Group will include the AIG Domestic Brokerage Group companies, which will now be known as AIG Commercial Insurance Group, as well as the AIG Domestic Personal Lines companies, United Guaranty Corp., and The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Co.

AIG Executive Vice President Kristian P. Moor was named president and CEO of the new Property Casualty Group. Moor joined AIG in 1981 and is a member of the AIG Group Executive Committee.

Kevin H. Kelley, chairman and CEO of AIG’s Lexington Insurance Co., was named executive vice president of the Property Casualty Group and president of AIG Domestic Personal Lines, reporting to Moor. Kelley will also continue as chairman and CEO of Lexington Insurance Co.

John Q. Doyle, president and CEO of AIG Executive Liability and AIG’s American Home Assurance Co., was appointed executive vice president of the Property Casualty Group, and president of the new AIG Commercial Insurance Group, reporting to Moor. Doyle will be responsible for overseeing all of the domestic commercial insurance businesses.

Within the Commercial Insurance Group, Michael W. Smith was named president of AIG Executive Liability.

Louis P. Iglesias was named chairman and CEO of AIG Risk Management Group. Under Iglesias, the AIG Risk Management Group will now include AIG Specialty Workers’ Compensation, which serves small and midmarket size businesses and was formerly a division of AIG’s American Home Assurance Co.

Russell Johnston was named president of AIG Risk Management.

Douglas Worman, Domestic Brokerage Group Zonal Executive for the Greater New York Region, was appointed president of the AIG Excess Casualty Group.

John O’Brien, chief operating officer and executive vice president of AIG Environmental, was appointed president of AIG Environmental.

Susan M. Clarke was appointed executive vice president and chief operating officer of AIG Domestic Accident & Health, reporting to Steve Gold, president and CEO of AIG Domestic Accident & Health.
