Novato, Calif.-based Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. named Bill Kenny vice president of tax. He will lead the tax function for Allianz of America in the United States, and will lead the teams responsible for tax accounting, tax planning, tax analysis, and reporting for Allianz Group companies throughout the United States.

Most recently, Kenny served as a senior vice president and tax counsel at Aviva USA, managing the tax function for the insurance group. A licensed tax attorney and CPA, he also has held tax leadership positions at ABN AMRO North America and KPMG.

Irvine, Calif.-based PowerGuard Specialty Insurance Services, a managing general agent and Lloyds cover holder, named Gayle Nakahodo vice president of operations. She will be responsible for working with retail and wholesale brokers, project developers, alternative energy investors, clients and prospects to streamline and manage agency operations and administration for the PowerGuard team. She will be based in San Francisco and divide her time between Northern California and PowerGuard’s headquarters in Irvine, Calif.

Nakahodo brings 15 years of legal, insurance underwriting, risk management and operations experience to PowerGuard. Previously she was a senior risk analyst at AAA of California Nevada and Utah, and was responsible for the procurement of property and casualty insurance to finance corporate risk. Over her career, Nakahodo has also worked as a retail insurance broker responsible for large, complex accounts and as an insurance company underwriter.

Arrowhead General Insurance Agency Inc. of San Diego named Debra Parker vice president of marketing for the Commercial division. She will oversee all commercial lines for marketing. She will also assist producers in developing their book of commercial lines business while enhancing their efficiencies.

Parker previously was assistant vice president of operations for ICW Group, where she oversaw seven branch offices for workers’ compensation underwriting and marketing.

Abram Interstate Insurance Services named Rebecca Donahue a commercial lines account manager to be based in the company’s Rocklin, Calif., office. She will focus on agribusiness exposures.

Donahue has more than 20 years of insurance industry experience. She started in the insurance industry in 1991 with a small wholesale insurance organization in southern California. She has primarily focused her insurance career on the agribusiness industry.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer appointed Ken Kirk to succeed Brett Jones on the SCF Arizona board of directors.

Kirk has a background in finance and insurance. He began his career as an audit manager with Arthur Andersen. He also formerly served as chief financial officer with the Crescent Hotel Group and then as CEO with Insurance West, a Scottsdale, Ariz., firm. Insurance West was acquired in 1995 by Brown & Brown Insurance, where Kirk served on the leadership team as regional president.

Jones is vice president of the Arizona Contractors Association. His role on the SCF board included contributions as chairman of the Board Governance Committee and chairman of the Corporate Responsibility Committee.

NAS Insurance Services named David Lloyd chief operations officer, with oversight of operations, online business development and agency services.

In his former position as senior vice president of operations at Venbrook, Lloyd managed all aspects of Web and product development, IT and operations. Lloyd has more than 20 years of experience and product marketing expertise.
