Amy L. Parks has been appointed acting commissioner of the Nevada Department of Insurance.

Parks’ appointment follows the resignation of former Nevada Insurance Commissioner Scott J. Kipper.

Parks has 11 years of experience with the state’s insurance division and this is her second time serving as acting commissioner. She has served as chief insurance counsel and hearing officer for the Nevada Division of Insurance since the spring of 2009, and insurance counsel and hearing officer for the division since August 2004.

The division is part of the Nevada Department of Business and Industry.

Donovan Bell has joined Leavitt Great West Insurance Services as a producer in its Bozeman, Mont. office.

Bell will focus on insurance for the hospitality and tourism industry, such as dude ranches, resorts, restaurants, bars, and breweries.

Prior to his work in insurance, Bell worked in the hospitality industry as a front office manager and food and beverage manager for Marriott Hotels.

Leavitt Great is a Leavitt Group agency.

LP Insurance Services Inc. has named Wes Crockett to its southern Nevada sales team.

Crockett will be responsible for developing new business relationships as well as retaining and servicing existing clients.

Crockett was most recently a senior associate at the exclusive Autograph Collection by Marriott in The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

LP Insurance Services is based in Reno.

Santa Rosa, Calif.-based RIC Insurance General Agency Inc. has named Jeff Gans chief operating officer.

Gans reports to Gary Kitchen, president and CEO.

Gans joined RIC in February 2015 as vice president of business development.

He was previously with Capital Insurance Group, Employers Insurance Group, Aon and CNA.

RIC is a wholesale insurance agency.

Scott Mandeville has joined the ACE Group as vice president of surety underwriting and regional manager for the surety division in the Western region.

Based in Los Angeles, Mandeville reports to Joseph Gaskill, senior vice president of ACE USA’s surety division.

Mandeville directs surety operations. He has nearly 20 years of construction and commercial surety experience.

Most recently, he held primary underwriting responsibility for the U.S., Canada and Europe commercial surety portfolio for another large national insurance carrier.

The division Mandeville oversees includes 12 Western states.
