Amount the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services is fining nine insurers in the American International Group for numerous violations of Oregon insurance and workers’ compensation laws, some dating back to 1985. AIG companies have already shown some improvement to remedy the problems, DCBS said.

Amount in insured losses Risk Management Solutions estimates could result from the Angora Fire in south Lake Tahoe, Calif. The Insurance Information Network of California said at least 415 claims had been filed for home, renter and auto losses by the day the fire was finally extinguished on June 29. RMS said the Angora Fire was the worst to occur in the area in more than four decades.

Amount California workers’ compensation insurers will need annually to pay for workers’ compensation losses induced by earthquakes, according to a study by the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California. The report, indicated that the losses would affect approximately 15.57 million employees.
