Boats, Personal Watercraft

April 7, 2003

Nuts & Bolts: The Foremost Insurance Group has designed new family boaters and personal watercraft programs. The Foremost Family Boaters program offers coverage for a wide range of makes, models and ages of inboard, outboard, inboard-outdrive, jet drive, or non-motorized boats measuring 26 feet and less in length and used as a personal pleasure craft. The standard Family Boaters policy contains a wide range of coverages specifically designed with the boater in mind. These include physical damage and liability coverage, medical payments coverage, wreck removal and limited pollution coverage, and coverage to recover and protect a boat from further damage. Optional coverages include personal property coverage (which includes sports and fishing equipment), replacement cost personal property coverage, towing and assistance coverage, uninsured watercraft coverage and increased limits on liability. The new Foremost Personal Watercraft program includes physical damage and liability coverages, with the option of liability-only coverage. Other optional coverages include accessory coverage, trailer coverage, water sports liability coverage, medical payments coverage, uninsured watercraft coverage, and towing and assistance coverage. Depending on location, boat and personal watercraft owners may also be able to take advantage of discounts such as multi-unit, prior insurance, renewal, boating safety course, multi-policy, ACV coverage and protective device. Agents can quote and book Family Boaters and Personal Watercraft policies over the phone.
